All therapists at both locations of ExpressIt are highly trained and demonstrate excellence in speech, language, and feeding therapy. Our staff receive extensive continuing education and are encouraged to understand the most up-to-date methods for assessment and treatment of speech, language and feeding disorders.

Dr. Jennifer D. Clarke CCC-SLP has been practicing speech and language pathology since 2000 in a variety of pediatric settings. She is state licensed in New Jersey and is ASHA Certified. Dr. Clarke graduated from Kean University with a B.A. in Speech and Hearing and an M.A. in Speech Pathology. She also received a M.Ed. from The Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University in Learning, Cognition and Memory. She completed her doctorate of Education at Rutgers Graduate School. Her research focuses on speech motor milestones in early speech acquisition.

Jennifer’s experience includes public and private schools, early intervention, medical daycare, and private practice. She specializes in motor speech disorders, orofacial myology, and behavioral and medical feeding disorders. Jennifer also has experience working with articulation disorders, CAPD, stuttering, childhood apraxia of speech, and autism spectrum disorders. She has also worked as an adjunct professor teaching undergraduate courses in language disorder, anatomy and physiology of the speech and hearing mechanisms, and clinical supervisor of graduate students.

Jennifer has specialized training in pediatric feeding disorders, orofacial myology, Apraxia, PROMPT, OPT, Kaufman Praxis, Beckman Oral Motor, and sensory integration.

Lori Weissman, MA, CCC-SLP, has been practicing Speech and Language Pathology for over 20 years in a variety of settings.  She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in New Jersey and ASHA certified.  Lori graduated from Kean University with a B.A. in Speech and Hearing and an M.A. in Speech Pathology.  She has worked in a variety of settings, including acute care trauma hospitals, out-patient hospital clinics, public schools, at-home Early Intervention therapy, specialized school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and private practice.  Lori also worked as an adjunct professor supervising graduate student clinicians at the University’s Speech and Language clinic, as well as at the ALS clinic at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Lori specializes in motor speech disorders, behavioral and medical feeding, Autism Spectrum Disorder, myofunctional disorders, articulation disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders and childhood Apraxia of speech. She has training and experience with augmentative communication and aural rehabilitation with cochlear implants and hearing aids.

Lori has specialized training in PROMPT, Talktools, Kaufman Praxis, Beckman Oral Motor, Sensory Integration and ABA.

Mariel Mathiesen joined the ExpressIt team in July of 2022. She arrived with a M.A. in Speech Pathology from Kean University. Ms, Mariel has over 10 years of experience working with preschool age children in a variety of settings. In her new position at Express It, she is increasing her knowledge in oral anatomy & physiology and the assessment, and treatment of oral motor/feeding disorders. Since July, Ms. Mariel has already completed the trainings for the Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention Protocol, TalkTools TM Sensory Motor Approach to Feeding and OPT, as well as The Kaufman K-SLP Methods and Behavioral Strategies to Build Vocal Communication. Ms. Mariel has also taken part of the conference “Why Baby Can’t Suck” and assists in feeding evaluations with bottle- and breast-fed infants, toddlers, and those with myofunctional disorders.

Arielle WoernerArielle Woerner joined the Express It team in March 2023. Arielle earned her M.A. In Speech Pathology from Kean University in 2014 and has nine years of experience as a speech language pathologist. She has experience preschool, public schools’ grades K-12 and a specialized school for children with developmental disabilities.

Arielle’s areas of experience include expressive and receptive language disorders, speech sound disorders, alternative and augmentative communication devices (AAC), feeding, and orofacial functioning. Arielle’s special interest areas include assessment and treatment of oral motor and feeding disorders. Arielle is a Talk Tools Level 3 OPT trained therapist and holds a certificate for Beckman Oral Motor Training.
